Systemization and delegation of your companies primary outcomes allows you to focus on doing only that which only you can do, leaving the rest to your team.
The first step in this process is learning how to design and build the systems that you need to run your business.
A systemized business can more easily grow and respond nimbly to market demands than businesses that operate in what I call “poorly managed chaos”.
Luckily, creating systems that can build, grow, and scale your business isn’t difficult once you learn how.
Over the duration of this course we will be going over the five parts of creating business systems that are Push Button Simple to use.
Language is the foundation of understanding. Closing the gap on wanting Push Button Systems and having Push Button Systems running your business starts with having a common language to describe systems and their component parts.
In this section of the course we will give you a rock solid foundation in the language of business systems that will help you understand them so you will have the tools needed to build them further on down the road.
Push Button Systems are a kind of high level engineering for businesses. They work best when they start with a solid design plan that respects the physical, mental, and resource limitations of your business the same way a good building blueprint respects the laws of physics.
In this section of the course we show you how to start looking at your business like a collection of interdependent systems so you can pick out the best places to start with your systematization process and design systems that make your business simpler and more efficient to run and grow.
If designing systems was analogous to engineering blueprints then documenting your systems is akin to the building plans created from that blueprint. These building plans show the builder step-by-step how to take raw materials and create the finished product. In the same way, well documented systems allow you or your team members to take the raw input of your business and created the final shipped outcomes of any particular system.
In this section of the course we will be going over the simplest method to document a system once it is designed so your team can create outcomes without your oversight. We will be getting into Confluence as our Standard Operating Procedure portal for your company and showing you how you can create a space for company knowledge that is easy to use, discoverable, and helps you grow.
This is where the rubber meets the road or in this case, where the workflow hits the project management system. After we have a system design blueprint and the building plans finished we need to establish the daily operations plan you and/or your team will use to actually create the outcomes in your business on a daily business.
In this section of the course we will be getting into Trello as our Project Management system of choice. We will be talking about how to translate the component parts of your systems, workflows, processes, steps, checklists, & documentation into Trello’s native capabilities in a way that makes it easy to manage and automate your outcomes as well as train your staff. And don’t worry, all of the concepts taught will translate into any project management system that allows for Kanban style views of your workflows.
This is where humans and robots collide to make that dream of doing only that which only you can do a reality for each member of your team. Meaning that your team is always operating at their highest and best and no one is wasting time or precious resources “pushing digital paper”. Robots are great at doing repetitive non-creative tasks and when your systems are setup well you can use those skills to enhance the work your team is creating on a daily basis. The increase in efficiency will also allow you to scale and price better than your competition enabling growth that will make them question how you are doing what you do.
In this section of the course we will be talking about how you can leverage our favorite workflow automation tool: Zapier. We will be talking about how you can take the everyday mundane tasks like assigning work, inputing data, creating checklists, moving data, or more and creating automation tools that do all of this work for you. The hours and hours of time you can save each member of your team on a daily basis will pay for this course all by itself, not to mention how the increased efficiency will grow your profitability as well. And don’t worry, all of the concepts we teach will work with any workflow automation tools you may be using in your business even if Zapier isn’t your first choice.
